Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 after the grand finale in Hyderabad. Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje Admassu was declared Miss World 2025 runner-up.

In her heartfelt first speech as 72nd Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata, Thailand expressed her gratitude and vision for the year ahead: “This moment is not just a personal victory, it is a shared dream of every young girl who wants to be seen, heard, and create change. I am honoured to represent this legacy and use my time as Miss World to make a real difference.”

Chuangsri received her crown from last year’s winner Krystyna Pyszková. The 72nd Miss World beauty pageant was hosted by Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle and Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar. India hosted the beauty competition last year as well. India’s Nandini Gupta exited after making it to the final 20. Six Indian women have won the title, including Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra (2000) and Manushi Chillar (2017).

According to the official website, Opal — whose person motto is: ‘To know that one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have succeeded’ — is a student of International Relations and would one day like to be an Ambassador. “Opal also has an interest in Psychology and Anthropology. She has volunteered for organisations supporting Breast Cancer and one of her proudest moments was when one of her supporters said that she was ’cancer free and that I had inspired her during her fight, after I myself faced surgery at 16 which was when I realized that my biggest fear was losing my chance of living my dreams.’ Opal has a special talent for playing the Ukelele backwards and has sixteen cats and five dogs as pets,” it added.

On May 31, 2025, the spotlight was firmly on Hyderabad as it hosted the grand finale of the 72nd Miss World Festival at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, with 108 participants worldwide.
