أعلنت السلطات الفلبينية، اليوم (الأحد)، ارتفاع حصيلة ضحايا حادث غرق العبّارة جنوب البلاد إلى 39 قتيلاً، عقب انتشال ثلاث جثث جديدة خلال عمليات البحث والإنقاذ المتواصلة منذ وقوع الحادث الأسبوع الماضي.

وأوضح المتحدث باسم خفر السواحل الفلبيني أن فرق الإنقاذ عثرت صباح اليوم على ثلاث جثث قبالة سواحل بلدية لاميتان في جزيرة باسيلان، ما رفع العدد الرسمي للضحايا، فيما لا يزال عدد من الركاب في عداد المفقودين.
تفاصيل الحادث
وكانت العبارة «إم في ليدي ماري جوي» قد غرقت في 25 يناير أثناء رحلتها من مدينة زامبوانجا إلى جزيرة باسيلان، وعلى متنها أكثر من 200 راكب وطاقم، بينما تم إنقاذ ما يزيد على 160 شخصاً حتى الآن.
أسباب أولية
وأرجعت السلطات الحادث مبدئياً إلى سوء الأحوال الجوية وارتفاع الأمواج، مع وجود شبهات حول تجاوز العبارة سعتها المسموح بها، وهو ما يتكرر في بعض خطوط النقل البحري الداخلية بالبلاد.
