أقامت الملحقية الثقافية بسفارة المملكة العربية السعودية لدى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية أمس الأول، ورشة عمل بعنوان «الطاولة المستديرة لفرص تدريب الطلبة المبتعثين»، بالشراكة مع الملحقية التجارية بسفارة المملكة في واشنطن، بحضور نائب رئيس البعثة في سفارة المملكة لدى الولايات المتحدة نواف بن خالد العيسى، والملحق التجاري عبدالله بن سليمان المسعود، ورئيس المجلس التجاري الأمريكي السعودي تشارلز حلّاب، إلى جانب عدد من مسؤولي وممثلي الشركات الأمريكية الرائدة في مجالات النفط والطاقة والصناعة والتقنية والخدمات والاستشارات.
وهدفت الورشة إلى بحث فرص شراكات تتيح للطلبة السعوديين المبتعثين فرصاً للتدريب العملي والتأهيل التقني المتقدم داخل كبرى الشركات الأمريكية، بما يسهم في اكتسابهم خبرات عملية وتقنية متقدمة مرتبطة بتخصصاتهم العلمية، ويعزز جاهزيتهم لسوق العمل ونقل تلك الخبرات والتجارب النوعية إلى المملكة بعد عودتهم للإسهام في دعم التنمية الوطنية ومشاريع رؤية المملكة 2030.
وأكدت الملحق الثقافي السعودي لدى الولايات المتحدة الدكتورة تهاني البيز خلال كلمتها، أهمية الاستثمار في الكفاءات الوطنية، مشيرةً إلى أن الطلبة المبتعثين يمثلون ركيزة مهمة في بناء مستقبل القطاعات الحيوية بالمملكة، من خلال ما يكتسبونه من علم ومعرفة متخصصة وخبرات مهنية من الجامعات والشركات العالمية العريقة.
وأوضحت أن الورشة تأتي ضمن جهود الملحقية الثقافية؛ لتعزيز فرص التدريب والتطوير المهني للطلبة والطالبات المبتعثين، وربطهم بالشركات العالمية التي تمتلك استثمارات ومشاريع متنوعة داخل المملكة، بما يتيح لهم فرصة الانخراط في بيئات عمل احترافية واكتساب خبرات عملية وتقنية متقدمة في مجالات الطاقة والصناعة والهندسة والتقنية والإدارة والخدمات.
وشهدت الورشة عروضاً تعريفية ومناقشات تناولت آليات التعاون من خلال فرص التدريب العملي وبرامج (CPT) و(OPT)، إضافة إلى برامج التوظيف المتنوعة وفق مجال عمل الشركات وتخصصات الخريجين السعوديين، بما يسهم في إعداد كوادر سعودية مؤهلة تمتلك خبرات دولية ومعرفة تطبيقية حديثة.
كما بحث المشاركون آلية تمكين الطلبة بعد التخرج من الالتحاق ببرامج التدريب والعمل في الشركات المشاركة وفق القوانين المعمول بها، بما يدعم بناء جسور مستدامة للتعاون بين الشركات الأمريكية والطلبة بعد تخرجهم.
بدوره قال الملحق التجاري في سفارة المملكة لدى الولايات المتحدة عبدالله المسعود: «اللقاء يأتي ضمن سلسلة من اللقاءات والبرامج المشتركة التي تهدف إلى الوصول إلى شريحة أكبر من الشركات الأمريكية الرائدة، وتعزيز فرص التعاون مع القطاع الخاص الأمريكي بما يسهم في توفير فرص تدريب وتأهيل نوعية للطلبة السعوديين المبتعثين».
وأشار إلى أن المرحلة القادمة ستشهد تنظيم فعاليات ولقاءات إضافية ضمن برامج دعم وتأهيل الطلبة والطالبات لاستكمال مسيرتهم الأكاديمية، بما يسهم في إثراء قدراتهم المهنية والتقنية.
The Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the United States held a workshop titled “Roundtable on Training Opportunities for Scholarship Students” the day before yesterday, in partnership with the Commercial Attaché at the Kingdom’s Embassy in Washington. The event was attended by the Deputy Head of Mission at the Saudi Embassy in the United States, Nawaf bin Khalid Al-Issa, the Commercial Attaché Abdullah bin Suleiman Al-Masoud, and the Chairman of the Saudi-American Business Council Charles Hallab, along with several officials and representatives from leading American companies in the fields of oil, energy, industry, technology, services, and consulting.
The workshop aimed to explore partnership opportunities that provide Saudi scholarship students with practical training and advanced technical qualification within major American companies, contributing to their acquisition of practical and advanced technical experiences related to their scientific specialties, and enhancing their readiness for the labor market while transferring those qualitative experiences and insights back to the Kingdom after their return to contribute to supporting national development and the projects of Vision 2030.
The Saudi Cultural Attaché in the United States, Dr. Tahani Al-Bayez, emphasized during her speech the importance of investing in national competencies, pointing out that scholarship students represent an important pillar in building the future of vital sectors in the Kingdom through the specialized knowledge and professional experiences they gain from prestigious universities and global companies.
She explained that the workshop is part of the Cultural Attaché’s efforts to enhance training and professional development opportunities for male and female scholarship students, connecting them with global companies that have diverse investments and projects within the Kingdom, allowing them the opportunity to engage in professional work environments and acquire advanced practical and technical experiences in the fields of energy, industry, engineering, technology, management, and services.
The workshop featured introductory presentations and discussions that addressed collaboration mechanisms through practical training opportunities and (CPT) and (OPT) programs, in addition to various employment programs according to the companies’ fields of work and the specialties of Saudi graduates, contributing to the preparation of qualified Saudi cadres with international experiences and modern applied knowledge.
Participants also discussed mechanisms to enable students after graduation to join training and work programs in the participating companies in accordance with applicable laws, supporting the establishment of sustainable bridges for cooperation between American companies and students after their graduation.
For his part, the Commercial Attaché at the Saudi Embassy in the United States, Abdullah Al-Masoud, stated: “The meeting is part of a series of meetings and joint programs aimed at reaching a larger segment of leading American companies and enhancing cooperation opportunities with the American private sector, contributing to providing quality training and qualification opportunities for Saudi scholarship students.”
He noted that the upcoming phase will witness the organization of additional events and meetings as part of the support and qualification programs for male and female students to complete their academic journey, contributing to enriching their professional and technical capabilities.
