ألقت الأجهزة الأمنية في مملكة البحرين القبض على الفنان التشكيلي والمصور الفوتوغرافي مهدي طاهر الجلاوي، على خلفية اتهامه بنشر محتوى عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي يتضمن التعاطف مع ما وصفته السلطات بـ«العدوان الإيراني الآثم»، إضافة إلى نشر معلومات كاذبة والتحريض على استهداف مواقع داخل البحرين.
القبض على الجلاوي وإحالته للنيابة
وذكرت مصادر أمنية أن عملية القبض جرت يوم الثلاثاء 10 مارس 2026، بعد استدعائه للتحقيق، حيث جرى عرضه على النيابة العامة التي قررت حبسه لمدة 30 يوماً على ذمة التحقيق.
ويعد الجلاوي من الأسماء المعروفة في الأوساط الفنية بالبحرين، خصوصاً بعد مشاركته في تصميم الجواز الإلكتروني الجديد لمملكة البحرين، الذي صنفته مؤسسة Regula ضمن قائمة أجمل 12 جواز سفر في العالم.
غير أن اسمه عاد إلى الواجهة مجدداً بعد توقيفه مع عدد من الأشخاص بتهم تتعلق بالتعاطف مع العدوان الإيراني.
ضبط متهمين بتضليل الرأي العام
في سياق متصل، أعلنت وزارة الداخلية البحرينية القبض على ستة أشخاص على خلفية نشر مقاطع ومحتويات تتعلق بآثار «العدوان الإيراني»، تضمنت – بحسب البيان – التعاطف معه وتمجيد أعماله العدائية.
وأوضح البيان أن المتهمين تداولوا تلك المقاطع عبر حساباتهم في منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، ما من شأنه تضليل الرأي العام وبث الخوف في نفوس المواطنين والمقيمين، إضافة إلى الإضرار بالأمن والنظام العام.
وأكدت الوزارة أنه تم اتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة بحقهم وإحالتهم إلى النيابة العامة لاستكمال التحقيقات.
تحذير رسمي من نشر الأخبار المضللة
وشددت وزارة الداخلية البحرينية على ضرورة استقاء المعلومات من مصادرها الرسمية، وعدم تداول أو إعادة نشر مقاطع أو أخبار غير موثوقة، تجنباً للمساءلة القانونية، وبما يحفظ أمن الوطن وسلامته.
شبكة تخابر مرتبطة بالحرس الثوري
وفي ملف متصل، أعلنت السلطات البحرينية في وقت سابق القبض على أربعة بحرينيين، فيما تم تحديد شخص خامس يقيم خارج البلاد، بعد الاشتباه بتورطهم في التخابر مع الحرس الثوري الإيراني عبر عناصر مرتبطة به داخل إيران.
وأوضحت التحقيقات الأولية أن المتهمين كانوا على تواصل مع تلك الجهات عبر قنوات مختلفة، في إطار أنشطة تهدف إلى الإضرار بأمن البحرين واستقرارها.
The security forces in the Kingdom of Bahrain arrested the visual artist and photographer Mahdi Taher Al-Jalawi, following accusations of publishing content on social media platforms that expresses sympathy for what the authorities described as “the wicked Iranian aggression,” in addition to spreading false information and inciting attacks on sites within Bahrain.
Al-Jalawi’s arrest and referral to the prosecution
Security sources reported that the arrest took place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, after he was summoned for interrogation, where he was presented to the Public Prosecution, which decided to detain him for 30 days pending investigation.
Al-Jalawi is considered a well-known name in the artistic circles of Bahrain, especially after his participation in designing the new electronic passport for the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was ranked by Regula among the list of the 12 most beautiful passports in the world.
However, his name has resurfaced after his arrest along with several individuals on charges related to expressing sympathy for the Iranian aggression.
Arrest of suspects for misleading public opinion
In a related context, the Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of six individuals for publishing clips and content related to the effects of the “Iranian aggression,” which included – according to the statement – expressing sympathy for it and glorifying its hostile actions.
The statement clarified that the suspects circulated those clips through their accounts on social media platforms, which could mislead public opinion and instill fear in the hearts of citizens and residents, in addition to harming security and public order.
The ministry confirmed that necessary legal measures have been taken against them and they have been referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the investigations.
Official warning against publishing misleading news
The Bahraini Ministry of Interior emphasized the necessity of obtaining information from official sources and not circulating or republishing unreliable clips or news, to avoid legal accountability and to preserve the security and safety of the nation.
Espionage network linked to the Revolutionary Guard
In a related file, Bahraini authorities previously announced the arrest of four Bahrainis, while a fifth person residing outside the country was identified, after suspicion of their involvement in espionage with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard through elements linked to it inside Iran.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspects were in contact with those entities through various channels, as part of activities aimed at harming the security and stability of Bahrain.
