سجلت الهند شهر أغسطس الأكثر حرّاً منذ بدء جمع البيانات المناخية عام 1901م، بعدما بلغ متوسط الحرارة في البلاد 28.01 درجة مئوية، بحسب ما أفادت هيئة الأرصاد الجوية الهندية.

وتجاوز متوسط معدلات الحرارة في أغسطس هذا العام مستوياته الطبيعية منذ فترة طويلة بمقدار 0.67 درجة مئوية، بحسب الأرقام التي نشرتها الهيئة نهاية الشهر الماضي.

وسُجِّل الرقم القياسي السابق لشهر أغسطس عام 2023، عندما بلغ متوسط معدلات الحرارة 28 درجة مئوية.

وبحسب هيئة الأرصاد الجوية الهندية، انخفضت الأمطار الموسمية في الهند بنسبة 16% عن معدلاتها الطبيعية في أغسطس، مما أسهم في حرارة أكثر شدة، مشيرة إلى أن ظاهرة «إل نينيو» أسهمت جزئيّاً في ذلك.

India recorded August as the hottest month since the start of climate data collection in 1901, with an average temperature of 28.01 degrees Celsius, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.

The average temperature in August this year exceeded its long-term normal levels by 0.67 degrees Celsius, according to figures released by the department at the end of last month.

The previous record for August was set in 2023, when the average temperature reached 28 degrees Celsius.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, monsoon rainfall in India decreased by 16% compared to its normal levels in August, contributing to more intense heat, noting that the “El Niño” phenomenon partially contributed to this.
