كشفت صحيفة «فاينانشيال تايمز»، نقلاً عن 7 مصادر مطلعة، أن قمة جمعت الرئيس الصيني شي جين بينغ والرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب شهدت توتراً لافتاً، بعدما رفع الرئيس الصيني صوته خلال نقاش حاد حول اليابان وتعزيز قدراتها العسكرية.
وأفادت المصادر بأن شي بدا «منفعلاً ومضطرباً» أثناء حديثه عن خطط طوكيو لزيادة إنفاقها الدفاعي وتخفيف القيود الدستورية المفروضة على قواتها العسكرية، معتبراً أن تلك التحركات تمثل تهديداً مباشراً للاستقرار والسلام الإقليمي في آسيا.
اليابان تشعل أجواء القمة

The sources described this part of the discussions as “the hottest” during the summit, especially since the topic of Japan was not on the pre-scheduled agenda, which surprised the American delegation.
