في تطور مفاجئ أعاد لفت الأنظار إلى سماء فنزويلا المضطربة، قررت ثلاث شركات طيران دولية تعليق رحلاتها المغادرة من البلاد، بعد تحذير لافت وجّهته إدارة الطيران الفيدرالية الأمريكية بشأن «خطر محتمل» عند التحليق فوق الأجواء الفنزويلية. خطوة غير اعتيادية أثارت تساؤلات حول طبيعة التهديد، ودفعت قطاع الطيران العالمي إلى رفع مستوى الحذر وسط حالة من الترقب.
وبحسب بيانات موقع فلايت رادار 24 والموقع الرسمي لمطار سيمون بوليفار الدولي في مايكيتيا، فقد ألغت كل من شركة غول البرازيلية وأفيانكا الكولومبية وتاب إير البرتغالية رحلاتها.
وقالت شركة أفيانكا إن القرار جاء نتيجة مخاطر محتملة للطيران في منطقة مايكيتيا بسبب تدهور الظروف الأمنية وزيادة النشاط العسكري.
من جانبها، أكدت شركة تاب إلغاء رحلاتها المقررة أمس (السبت)، والثلاثاء القادم، موضحة أن القرار يستند إلى معلومات من السلطات الأمريكية بشأن «عدم ضمان سلامة الطيران في المجال الجوي الفنزويلي».
وأعلنت شركة إيبيريا الإسبانية أيضاً تعليق رحلاتها من وإلى كاراكاس ابتداءً من الاثنين وحتى إشعار آخر، رغم أن رحلتها المقررة أمس إلى مدريد أقلعت في موعدها.
وقال متحدث باسم الشركة إن الوضع قيد التقييم لتحديد موعد استئناف الرحلات.
في المقابل، واصلت شركتا كوبا للطيران وWingo تشغيل رحلاتهما من مطار مايكيتيا.
تعزيزات عسكرية أمريكية واسعة في المنطقة
وكانت إدارة الطيران الفيدرالية الأمريكية قد حذرت من تدهور الوضع الأمني وزيادة النشاط العسكري في فنزويلا أو حولها، مشيرة إلى أن هذه الظروف قد تشكل خطراً على الطائرات على جميع الارتفاعات.
ويأتي ذلك وسط تعزيزات عسكرية أمريكية واسعة في المنطقة خلال الأشهر الأخيرة، بما في ذلك نشر أكبر حاملة طائرات تابعة للبحرية الأمريكية وعدد من السفن الحربية وطائرات F-35.
In a surprising development that has drawn attention back to the troubled skies of Venezuela, three international airlines have decided to suspend their flights departing from the country, following a notable warning issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration regarding a “potential hazard” when flying over Venezuelan airspace. This unusual step has raised questions about the nature of the threat and prompted the global aviation sector to increase its level of caution amid a state of anticipation.
According to data from Flight Radar 24 and the official website of Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, Brazilian airline Gol, Colombian airline Avianca, and Portuguese airline TAP Air have canceled their flights.
Avianca stated that the decision was made due to potential flight risks in the Maiquetía area because of deteriorating security conditions and increased military activity.
For its part, TAP confirmed the cancellation of its scheduled flights yesterday (Saturday) and next Tuesday, explaining that the decision is based on information from U.S. authorities regarding the “lack of assurance of flight safety in Venezuelan airspace.”
Spanish airline Iberia also announced the suspension of its flights to and from Caracas starting Monday until further notice, although its scheduled flight yesterday to Madrid departed on time.
A spokesperson for the company stated that the situation is under evaluation to determine when flights will resume.
Meanwhile, both Cubana de Aviación and Wingo continued to operate their flights from Maiquetía Airport.
Extensive U.S. Military Reinforcements in the Region
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration had warned of the deteriorating security situation and increased military activity in or around Venezuela, indicating that these conditions could pose a risk to aircraft at all altitudes.
This comes amid extensive U.S. military reinforcements in the region in recent months, including the deployment of the largest aircraft carrier of the U.S. Navy along with several warships and F-35 aircraft.
