Cairo: Egypt on Monday condemned the renewed Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates and Jordan.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Egypt expressed deep concern over the continued attacks, saying they pose a direct threat to the security and safety of the two countries and their peoples.
The ministry warned that the attacks risk widening the confrontation and undermining efforts to restore stability in the region.
Egypt reiterated its full solidarity with the UAE and Jordan, stressing the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
It also underlined the need to safeguard the security of navigation and freedom of movement for vessels in maritime corridors and straits in accordance with international law.
The ministry warned of the serious repercussions of continued escalation on regional security and stability and called for an end to the attacks, de-escalation of tensions and a return to negotiations.
Egypt also urged giving diplomatic efforts an opportunity to reach solutions that would help restore security and stability and protect the region from a broader confrontation.
