Évian-les-Bains, France: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting global peace, stability and development during his participation in the 52nd G7 Leaders’ Summit.

The summit, hosted by France in Évian-les-Bains from 15 to 17 June, brought together leaders of the G7 countries — France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Canada and Japan — along with several invited nations.

Call for greater global cooperation

In his address, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stressed the importance of international cooperation in addressing evolving global challenges.

He noted that the region is experiencing a period of significant upheaval, with developments that extend beyond regional borders and affect global stability.

His Highness also expressed appreciation for the support extended by G7 countries and international partners during the UAE’s defence against missile and drone attacks targeting civilian sites over recent weeks.

Importance of stability and trade security

The UAE President highlighted the need to safeguard global stability through resilient supply chains, secure trade routes and efficient infrastructure.

He said these elements are essential foundations for global prosperity and represent a shared international responsibility.

Support for diplomatic efforts

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed commended the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump in contributing to the agreement on a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.

He reiterated that lasting peace depends on respect for state sovereignty, adherence to international law and the principles of good neighbourliness.

Focus on future cooperation

The UAE President also emphasised opportunities to expand cooperation in key sectors including energy transition, artificial intelligence and economic development.

He noted that the UAE continues to position itself as a forward-looking partner in these areas, supporting innovation and long-term growth.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said the UAE’s participation in the G7 Summit reflects its commitment to strengthening partnerships and advancing cooperation in ways that support stability and prosperity globally.

He added that the summit provides a platform to deepen collaboration and address shared challenges while promoting sustainable development for the future.
