BSNL Unveils Independence Day Offers, Steps Up 4G Expansion In AP

VIJAYAWADA: BSNL Andhra Pradesh circle has announced special Independence Day offers and outlined plans to expand indigenous 4G connectivity, satellite communication and digital services across the State.

At a press conference here on Friday, chief general manager M. Seshachalam, ITS, said BSNL was strengthening connectivity, particularly in remote areas.

Under the Rs 1 Freedom 2.0 offer, customers will get 1 GB of data, 100 SMSes and unlimited calls daily for 24 days. The Rs 2,399 annual plan comes with 47 additional days, taking the validity to 412 days.

The Rs 1,111 Fibre Freedom Plan offers speeds of up to 200 Mbps, 5,000 GB of data, more than 25 premium OTT platforms and unlimited calls. The Rs 499, 60 Mbps Fibre Basic Plan comes with the first month free and a Rs 300 discount over three months.

Mobile users can access Tango-powered BSNL Entertainment TV free through the Selfcare App. BSNL’s Global Satellite Phone Service provides voice connectivity where terrestrial networks are unavailable.

Under Atmanirbhar Bharat, BSNL has deployed indigenous 4G technology. Andhra Pradesh has around 6,850 towers and 15,000 BTSs, while more than 26,300 additional BTS sites have been ordered nationally.

Under the 4G Saturation Project, 1,359 towers have been built in Andhra Pradesh, covering 2,641 remote villages, including 581 in Araku, 391 in the erstwhile East Godavari and Alluri Sitharama Raju areas and 112 in Chittoor. Another 814 sites will cover 1,206 villages. Work has begun at 367 sites and is targeted for completion by March 2027.

BSNL earned about Rs 24,500 crore nationally and Rs 1,089 crore in Andhra Pradesh last year and is targeting Rs 30,000 crore and Rs 1,307 crore respectively this year. Circle and district NOCs monitor networks round the clock.

Its partnership with Polycab will promote Made-in-India telecom equipment and a Hardware-as-a-Service model. FTTH, OTT, e-SIM and Universal SIM services are also being expanded.

BSNL has 104 vacant franchisee territories in Andhra Pradesh and offers opportunities as franchisees, TIPs, DSAs and rural distributors. Enterprise customers get a one-month free ILL trial, twice the bandwidth and 13 months’ service for 12 months’ advance payment.
