Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has taken former Engineer-in-Chief of the Irrigation Department, Chetti Muralidhar Rao, into custody in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
ACB officials carried out simultaneous raids at multiple locations in Hyderabad, Karimnagar, and Zaheerabad.
Rao, who served as ENC, was appointed to the post soon after the BRS government came to power in 2014.
ACB is cracking down on corruption in the irrigation department. ACB unearthed multiple disproportionate assets cases involving engineers associated with the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIS).
