New Delhi: The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has approved the implementation of a Price Deficiency Payment (PDP) scheme for Totapuri mango farmers in Andhra Pradesh under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) during the 2025-26 marketing season.
Under the scheme, farmers will be compensated if they sell their produce below the fixed Market Intervention Price (MIP) of ₹1,490.73 per quintal. The maximum price support will be ₹372.68 per quintal, shared equally by the Centre and the State.
The scheme will cover 1.62 lakh metric tonnes of Totapuri mangoes and remain in force for 30 days from the first transaction. Farmers must sell through notified APMC mandis, processing units, or ramps with proper documentation to avail benefits.
