Visakhapatnam: The Har Ghar Tiranga rally was held on Visakhapatnam Beach Road on Friday as part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations, following the call of the Central and state governments to promote the campaign.
District revenue officer M. Visweswara Naidu flagged off the rally at Kalimata Temple. It proceeded to the YMCA, with students, officials and citizens participating. Participants carried a 100-metre National Flag, while patriotic songs and slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram were raised along the route.
Held under the theme Vikasit Bharat, Swarnandhra 2047, the rally sought to promote national unity and highlight the sacrifices of freedom fighters. Speakers stressed the importance of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in instilling patriotic values among youth and urged citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes.
District tourism officer J. Madhavi, district education officer Prem Kumar, information department RJD K. Sadarao, hotels association president Pawan Karthik and officials from the transport, police and revenue departments participated along with teachers and students.
