CAST: Harish Kalyan, Siddhi Idnani, Kovai Sarala, Thambi Ramaiah, M. Rinil, VJ Parvathi
DIRECTION: Sasi
RATING: 2.3/5
Fenny (Siddhi Idnani) lives in Goa with her grandmother (Kovai Sarala). Her boyfriend Richie (Rini)has been in a coma for months, and every day she records a video diary so he can catch up on everything once he wakes. Vinoth John Francis (Harish Kalyan), a TV producer from Mumbai, is unhappily posted to a small local channel in Goa and badly needs a hit. He builds a show around Fenny’s every day life. As they spend more time together, Vinoth falls for her. Then Richie begins to recover, and Fenny is left with a difficult choice.
Both leads are good. Harish Kalyan and Siddhi Idnani look young and hip, and they are easy to watch together. Siddhi has the tougher part, playing a woman torn between loyalty and new feelings, and she handles it sincerely. Harish is relaxed and charming. VJ Parvathy’s one-liner comedic punches elicit a few laughs here and there.
Sasi starts with an interesting idea. The video diary gives the early romance a fresh touch, and the friendship between Fenny and Vinoth grows at an unhurried pace. Once Richie is back in the picture, the story falls into the typical love triangle, it starts dragging and the turns can be guessed well in advance. Having sat on the shelf for a few years, the film feels a little dated.
Prasanna S. Kumar’s visuals are bright and Siddhu’s songs suit the breezy mood.
