Kakinada: Andhra Pradesh Police have taken action against Sarpavaram In-Charge Circle Inspector Ravikumar and ordered him to report to the Vacancy Reserve (VR) on Thursday.

Allegations suggest that CI Ravikumar maintained close ties with Kakinada MLC Anantha Babu during the YSRCP regime. He is alleged to have divulged case information to the MLC, who is currently absconding.

AP Police officials have also removed CI Ravikumar from the investigation and entrusted Tuni Rural CI Chennakeshava Rao with the responsibilities as Investigating Officer for the driver Veedhi Subrahmanyam murder case.

YSRCP MLC Anantha Babu is currently embroiled in a legal crisis regarding the 2022 murder case of his driver, Veedhi Subrahmanyam. The MLC has allegedly violated bail conditions and is also accused of intimidating key witnesses in the case, issuing death threats, and evading arrest after his bail was rejected. Police authorities have launched a manhunt for Anantha Babu, who reportedly went into hiding.
