Chennai:The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will run additional buses from September 3 to September 6 to meet the demands of people during the Krishna Jayanthi and weekend holidays when people go to various places and a heavy rush is expected.

Since Krishna Jayanthi comes on a Friday followed by weekend holidays, a large number of people are expected to travel to their native places and other tourist spots. The information on special buses is provided to people to enable them reserve their seats in advance to avoid last hour rush and inconvenience, a TNSTC press release here said. On September 3, a total of 910 buses will be operated from Kilambakkam bus terminus to Thiruvannamalai, Tiruchi, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode and Tirupur. Another 740 buses will be operated on September 4 and 880 buses on September 5 to the same places.

From Koyambedu, 210 buses will be operated to Thiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur and Bengaluru on September 3 and 210 buses each on September 4 and September 5. From Madhavaram, 95 buses will be operated each day on each day from September 3 to 5. A total of 200 buses will be operated from Bengaluru, Tirupur, Erode and Coimbatore to various places on the three days. A total of 805 buses would be operated on September 6 to Chennai from various places of the state.
