Tributes Pour In for Actor Kota Srinivasa Rao

Hyderabad: Tributes are pouring in from across the Telugu states and the film fraternity following the death of veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, a towering figure in Telugu cinema known for his versatile roles over a career spanning four decades.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep sorrow over the demise, describing it as an irreparable loss to the Telugu film industry. “Kota Srinivasa Rao won the admiration of audiences with his diverse roles. His artistic service to film and theatre for nearly four decades is unforgettable. His performances as a villain and character artist will be remembered forever,” he said. CM Naidu also recalled Kota’s political career, having served as an MLA from Vijayawada in 1999.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy echoed similar sentiments, calling Kota’s death a huge loss to the film industry. He praised the actor’s distinctive acting style and conveyed his deepest condolences to the family.

Former CM and BRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao described Kota as a distinctive silver screen actor who carved a special place in the hearts of the audience. He said the industry has lost a great talent and expressed condolences to his family and fans.

Mega star Chiranjeevi, recalling their debut together in *Pranam Khareedhu, called the news deeply disturbing. “Only he could play any role – comedy, villain, or character – with such brilliance. His recent personal tragedies affected him deeply. His loss is something the industry will never overcome,” he said, praying for his soul to rest in peace.

Veteran actor and writer Tanikella Bharani paid emotional tribute, stating, “The film industry’s ‘Kota’ has collapsed.” He highlighted Kota’s inspiring journey from a middle-class background to becoming a cinematic icon. “His foundation in drama shaped his extraordinary film career. He was the epitome of a complete actor,” he said.

Popular actor Ravi Teja shared, “I grew up watching, admiring, and learning from Kota Srinivasa Rao. He felt like a family member to me.”

Renowned actor Brahmanandam, visibly shaken, said, “I can’t believe he’s gone. He was a son of Nataraja. He spoke fearlessly and acted with unmatched depth. We worked together for nearly four decades.”
