لم يتخيل القائمون على «المعهد الهندي للتكنولوجيا» (IIT)، أحد أكثر المؤسسات التكنولوجية تحصيناً وصرامة في آسيا، أن ثغراتهم الأهم لن تُكتشف عبر طواقم الهندسة المسؤولة، بل عبر رسالة انتقامية تركها طالب غاضب على واجهة الموقع بعد الاستغناء عن ملف قبوله!
«الموقع مخترق.. كل ما أريده هو فرصة عادلة».. بهذه العبارة المباشرة، قرر الشاب الهندي أن يكتب خطاب اعتراضه الخاص، موجهاً ضربة موجعة لمنظومة رفضت إدراجه في برنامج البكالوريوس للأمن السيبراني بحجة «نقص الخبرة»!
بدأت الحكاية عندما استكمل الشاب جميع إجراءات التقديم، ودفع الرسوم، وأرفق ملفاً يتضمن نماذج من أعماله البرمجية للحصول على مقعد. لكن المفاجأة كانت باستبعاده الفوري دون حتى منحه حق المشاركة في الاختبار العملي، بذريعة افتقاره للخلفية الميدانية.
وبدلاً من الاستسلام لخطاب الرفض التقليدي، استغل الشاب المهارات التي زعم المعهد أنه يفتقر إليها، ونفذ عملية اختراق خاطفة استهدفت أقساماً حساسة في الموقعين الشقيقين، قبل أن يخرج علناً على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي ليعلن مسؤوليته الكاملة عن اختراق السيرفرات، مؤكداً أن الخطوة لم تكن لتدمير البيانات بل لاختبار قدرات المنظومة وإثبات جدارته!
هذه الحادثة الاستثنائية أحدثت حالة استنفار داخل أروقة المعهد. وفي الوقت الذي كانت الإدارة تدرس فيه تقديم بلاغ جنائي رسمي للشرطة بتهمة الجريمة الإلكترونية، أخذت القضية مَعياراً غير متوقع غيّر مسار حياة الشاب كلياً.
خرج مانهيندرا أغراوال مدير معهد «كانبور» ببيان يزن فيه الأمور بميزان أخير، مبيناً أنه رغم كون الدخول غير المصرح به مخالفة صريحة للقانون، إلا أن المعهد قرر استدعاء الطالب لاختبار تقني شامل وتقييم قدراته الفيلسوفية والميدانية، مؤكداً أنه إذا أثبت كفاءة حقيقية، فسيتم وضعه على رأس قائمة المقبولين في الدورة البرمجية القادمة بدلاً من إرساله إلى السجن!
The officials at the “Indian Institute of Technology” (IIT), one of the most fortified and rigorous technological institutions in Asia, never imagined that their most significant vulnerabilities would be discovered not by the responsible engineering teams, but through a vengeful message left by an angry student on the website after being denied his acceptance!
“The site is hacked… all I want is a fair chance.” With this straightforward phrase, the young Indian decided to write his own letter of objection, delivering a painful blow to a system that had rejected his inclusion in the bachelor’s program for cybersecurity on the grounds of “lack of experience”!
The story began when the young man completed all the application procedures, paid the fees, and attached a file containing samples of his programming work to secure a seat. But the surprise was his immediate exclusion without even being granted the right to participate in the practical test, under the pretext of lacking field experience.
Instead of succumbing to the traditional rejection letter, the young man utilized the skills that the institute claimed he lacked and executed a swift hacking operation targeting sensitive sections of the sister sites, before publicly announcing on social media his full responsibility for the server breach, asserting that the step was not to destroy data but to test the system’s capabilities and prove his worth!
This exceptional incident triggered a state of alert within the institute’s corridors. While the administration was considering filing a formal criminal complaint with the police for the cybercrime, the case took an unexpected turn that completely changed the young man’s life.
Manhendra Agrawal, the director of the “Kanpur” institute, issued a statement weighing the matters with a final scale, indicating that although unauthorized access is a clear violation of the law, the institute decided to summon the student for a comprehensive technical test to assess his philosophical and practical abilities, confirming that if he proved genuine competence, he would be placed at the top of the acceptance list for the next programming course instead of being sent to jail!
