أكد قائد المنتخب القطري لكرة القدم حسن الهيدوس، شعوره بالفخر لتمثيل منتخب بلاده في نهائيات كأس العالم 2026 للمرة الثانية توالياً، وقال الهيدوس في لقاء مصور بثه الاتحاد القطري لكرة القدم، إن المشاركة في النسخة القادمة من كأس العالم التي تستضيفها الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك تمثل مصدر فخر كبير له، مؤكداً أن ارتداء قميص «العنابي» كان دائماً شرفاً ومسؤولية كبيرة طوال مسيرته الدولية.

وأضاف: «أنا فخور بتمثيل المنتخب الوطني طوال هذه السنوات، وأتمنى دائماً أن أكون عند حسن ظن الجماهير». وأشار قائد المنتخب القطري إلى أن قرار اعتزال اللعب الدولي ثم العودة إلى صفوف المنتخب لم يكن سهلاً، لكنه حرص دائماً على وضع مصلحة المنتخب فوق كل اعتبار، باعتبارها الدافع الأساسي وراء مختلف القرارات التي اتخذها خلال مسيرته.

وقال: «أنا محظوظ بتمثيل المنتخب والمشاركة في البطولات المختلفة، كما أنني محظوظ بالزملاء الذين لعبت معهم والمدربين الذين عملت معهم»، مثنياً في الوقت ذاته على الدور الكبير الذي تلعبه الجماهير في دعم اللاعبين وتحفيزهم.

وأكد الهيدوس أن الخبرات التي اكتسبها من مشاركته السابقة في كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022 ستساعده على التعامل بصورة أفضل مع أجواء المباريات المونديالية ومتطلباتها، موضحاً أنها تمنحه القدرة على التصرف بشكل أفضل في المواقف المختلفة داخل الملعب وخارجه.

وشدد على أهمية نقل تلك الخبرات إلى بقية اللاعبين، خصوصاً العناصر الشابة التي ستخوض نهائيات كأس العالم للمرة الأولى، مؤكداً ضرورة التحلي بالطموح والرغبة المستمرة في تحقيق الإنجازات والسعي نحو أفضل النتائج.

وحول الاستعدادات للمونديال، أوضح قائد المنتخب القطري أن التحضيرات بدأت مبكراً منذ ضمان التأهل، بهدف الوصول إلى أعلى درجات الجاهزية.

وأشار إلى أن المنتخب القطري ينتظره تحد كبير في دور المجموعات، قائلاً: «المنافسة في مجموعتنا لن تكون سهلة، لأننا سنواجه المنتخب السويسري الذي يعد واحداً من أقوى المنتخبات في أوروبا والعالم، والمنتخب الكندي الذي سيلعب على أرضه وبين جماهيره ويضم عناصر مميزة، إضافة إلى منتخب البوسنة والهرسك».

واختتم الهيدوس تصريحاته بالتأكيد على ثقة لاعبي المنتخب بقدرتهم على تقديم مستويات مميزة، قائلاً: «نؤمن بحظوظنا في هذه المشاركة، وتركيزنا الأكبر حالياً ينصب على مباراتنا الأولى من أجل الظهور بصورة جيدة وتحقيق نتيجة إيجابية تمنحنا دفعة قوية في مشوار البطولة».

He added, “I am proud to represent the national team all these years, and I always hope to meet the expectations of the fans.” The Qatari team captain noted that the decision to retire from international play and then return to the national team was not easy, but he has always prioritized the team’s interests above all else, considering it the primary motivation behind various decisions he has made during his career.

He said, “I am fortunate to represent the team and participate in various tournaments, and I am also lucky to have the teammates I have played with and the coaches I have worked with,” while also praising the significant role that fans play in supporting and motivating the players.

Al-Haydos confirmed that the experiences he gained from his previous participation in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will help him handle the atmosphere and requirements of World Cup matches better, explaining that it gives him the ability to act more effectively in different situations both on and off the field.

He emphasized the importance of transferring those experiences to the other players, especially the young talents who will be competing in the World Cup for the first time, stressing the need to have ambition and a continuous desire to achieve accomplishments and strive for the best results.

Regarding preparations for the World Cup, the Qatari team captain clarified that preparations began early after securing qualification, aiming to reach the highest levels of readiness.

He pointed out that the Qatari team faces a significant challenge in the group stage, saying, “The competition in our group will not be easy, as we will face the Swiss team, which is one of the strongest teams in Europe and the world, and the Canadian team, which will play on home soil among its fans and includes distinguished players, in addition to the Bosnia and Herzegovina team.”

Al-Haydos concluded his statements by affirming the players’ confidence in their ability to deliver outstanding performances, saying, “We believe in our chances in this participation, and our main focus right now is on our first match to present ourselves well and achieve a positive result that gives us a strong boost in our journey in the tournament.”
