أمرت السلطات اليونانية اليوم بإخلاء تجمعات سكانية بالقرب من أثينا، بعد اندلاع حرائق غابات ضخمة جنوب شرق العاصمة وبالقرب من أكبر قاعدة بحرية في البلاد، الواقعة في جزيرة سالامينا.

وأرسلت السلطات اليونانية تنبيهات بالإخلاء إلى السكان في منطقتي أيا مارينا وتسونيما قرب ميناء لافريو، ومنطقتي أنو فاسيليكا وني سالامينا في جزيرة سالامينا، فيما تكافح فرق الإطفاء الحرائق بمشاركة أكثر من 150 رجل إطفاء ونحو 50 سيارة إطفاء، بدعم من طائرات لرش المياه.

ولم ترد تقارير فورية عن وقوع أضرار مادية أو إصابات.

وتشهد اليونان موجة حر شديدة، إذ بلغت درجات الحرارة 40 درجة مئوية.

وأودت حرائق الغابات في اليونان بحياة سبعة أشخاص خلال الأسابيع الأخيرة، وأتت على آلاف الهكتارات من الغابات ودمرت عشرات المنازل.

No immediate reports of material damage or injuries have been received.
