ينتظر الأسطورة كريستيانو رونالدو، إنجازا تاريخيا في مونديال 2026 كأول لاعب يشارك في 6 نسخ مختلفة من كأس العالم، والوحيد في التاريخ الذي سجل في 5 نسخ متتالية من المونديال وكان آخرها شباك غانا في نسخة قطر 2022، وفق التقرير الذي بثه موقع الـ«RT».
من جانبه أكد المدير الفني لمنتخب البرتغال«روبرتو مارتينيز»، أن قائد النصر السعودي «رونالدو» قادر على مواصلة العطاء والمشاركة في كأس العالم 2030، معلقاً على التكهنات التي تشير إلى أن رونالدو البالغ (41 عاما) سيعتزل دوليا بعد مونديال 2026.
وقال مدرب البرتغال: «لا ينبغي لأي شخص أن يشكك في قدرة رونالدو على التواجد في مونديال 2030، لقد استحق ذلك عن جدارة».
وأضاف:«نتمنى أن نتمكن من نقل نموذج كريستيانو رونالدو إلى جميع لاعبي كرة القدم الشباب في البرتغال لأنه قدوة لهم».
وواصل مدرب منتخب البرتغال:«لقد توصلنا نحن الطاقم الفني للمنتخب لاستنتاج أن رونالدو لا يلعب للفوز بلقب جماعي أو فردي محدد كريستيانو لا يعترف بما حققه، بل بشغفه الكبير مهما حقق من انتصارات فإنه في اليوم التالي يستمد نفس الشغف للتطور».
وأكمل:«لقد عملت مع العديد من اللاعبين الذين فازوا بدوري الأبطال أو الكرة الذهبية وفي اليوم التالي فقدوا حماسهم ما نراه مع رونالدو هو مثال على عقلية مختلفة».
واختتم: «أعتقد أن وجود هذا الهداف هو ما يضمن الاستمرارية بالطبع هناك جانب وراثي والجهد الذي يبذله فهو يستخدم كل ما يفيد جسده وعقليته».
