أكد توماس ليتش، مدرب فريق الشباب، أن الفريق استفاد بشكل إيجابي من فترة الاستعداد التي امتدت لثلاثة أسابيع، مشيراً إلى أن التحضيرات ركزت على الجوانب الفنية والتكتيكية وتجهيز اللاعبين للموسم الجديد.

وقال ليتش في المؤتمر الصحفي الذي يسبق مواجهة القادسية في الجولة الأولى من دوري روشن: «استغللنا فترة الاستعداد التي كانت مدتها ثلاثة أسابيع بشكل إيجابي، صحيح أننا سنواجه القادسية، وهو فريق قوي يلعب بنهج واضح بطريقة 3-5-2 ويمتلك لاعبين مميزين، ودرسنا نقاط القوة والضعف لديه، لكن تركيزنا الأكبر كان على فريقنا وعلى طريقة اللعب التي سنواجه بها القادسية».

وأضاف: «استغللت فترة الإعداد في النمسا واستفدت من التدريبات اليومية لتطبيق أفكاري وإيصالها إلى اللاعبين، وكانت هناك اجتماعات فردية معهم، ودائماً ما كان هناك تواصل مستمر مع اللاعبين. وما لاحظته هو وجود تجاوب كبير منهم، وهذا الأمر خلق روحاً معنوية جيدة داخل الفريق».

وتابع مدرب الشباب: «في البداية كان التركيز والعمل على الجوانب الدفاعية والمبادئ التي سيطبقها الفريق خلال الموسم، وبعدها بدأنا العمل على الجوانب الهجومية. أنا متفائل جداً، والفريق يتطور بشكل مستمر، خصوصاً أن المباريات الودية التي لعبناها خرجنا منها بنتائج إيجابية، صحيح أن هناك فرقاً كبيراً بين المباريات الودية والرسمية، لكنه أمر إيجابي بالنسبة لنا».

وعن تركيزه في تجاربه السابقة على المواهب الشابة، قال ليتش: «جميع الأندية السعودية تنظر إلى ثلاثة أمور، اللاعبون الأجانب، واللاعبون المحليون، واللاعبون صغار السن من أجل تطويرهم».

وتحدث ليتش عن أهمية الاعتماد على اللاعبين صغار السن، قائلاً: «دائماً ما أعتمد على اللاعبين صغار السن، وحتى في فترة المعسكر كنت حريصاً على منحهم الفرصة، من المهم أن تكون هناك عملية تواصل مع مدرب الفريق الأولمبي، وأن يتم إعطاء الفرصة للاعبين الصغار ليكونوا جاهزين في حال استعان بهم الفريق الأول. شاهدت مواهب مميزة، ومن المهم الاهتمام بهم وتطويرهم لأن لديهم مستقبلاً كبيراً مع النادي».

وعن مواجهة القادسية وطريقة اللعب، شدد ليتش على أهمية التوازن، وقال: «أهم شيء في كرة القدم أن يكون لديك دفاع متوازن وتستقبل أقل قدر ممكن من الأهداف، شاهدنا في المباريات الودية أن الفريق استقبل هدفاً واحداً فقط في أربع مباريات، وهذا شيء إيجابي ومطمئن لنا. صحيح أن القادسية فريق قوي، لكننا لن نبادر بالهجوم بشكل مبالغ فيه، وسيكون هناك توازن بين الدفاع والهجوم، والأهم هو الثقة والمنافسة، والشباب يمتلك قوة هجومية».

وفيما يخص التعاقدات، أوضح مدرب الشباب: «نحن الآن في منتصف أغسطس، ولا يزال هناك وقت قبل إغلاق فترة الانتقالات، ولا نعلم ماذا سيحدث في المستقبل».

وعن إمكانية الاعتماد على كارلوس جونيور في مركز رأس الحربة، قال: «كارلوس جونيور سبق أن لعب كرأس حربة، وصحيح أن هذا ليس مركزه الأساسي، لكنه نجح فيه وأنا أثق به، نمتلك أيضاً لاعبين سعوديين في هذا المركز مثل حمد الخريف وهشام الدبيس، ولكن من الآن وحتى أسبوع قد يكون لدينا خمسة رؤوس حربة، ولا نعلم ما الذي سيحدث».

Thomas Leitch, the youth team coach, confirmed that the team benefited positively from the three-week preparation period, noting that the preparations focused on technical and tactical aspects and getting the players ready for the new season.

Leitch said at the press conference preceding the match against Al-Qadisiyah in the first round of the Roshen League: “We utilized the three-week preparation period positively. It is true that we will face Al-Qadisiyah, which is a strong team that plays with a clear approach of 3-5-2 and has distinguished players. We studied their strengths and weaknesses, but our main focus was on our team and the way we will play against Al-Qadisiyah.”

He added: “I took advantage of the preparation period in Austria and benefited from the daily training sessions to implement my ideas and communicate them to the players. There were individual meetings with them, and there was always continuous communication with the players. What I noticed was a great response from them, and this created a good morale within the team.”

The youth coach continued: “Initially, the focus was on defensive aspects and the principles that the team will apply throughout the season, and then we started working on offensive aspects. I am very optimistic, and the team is continuously developing, especially since the friendly matches we played ended with positive results. It is true that there is a significant difference between friendly and official matches, but it is a positive matter for us.”

Regarding his focus on young talents in his previous experiences, Leitch said: “All Saudi clubs look at three things: foreign players, local players, and young players to develop them.”

Leitch spoke about the importance of relying on young players, saying: “I always rely on young players, and even during the camp, I was keen to give them opportunities. It is important to have communication with the Olympic team coach and to give young players the chance to be ready in case the first team needs them. I have seen distinguished talents, and it is important to pay attention to them and develop them because they have a great future with the club.”

Regarding the match against Al-Qadisiyah and the playing style, Leitch emphasized the importance of balance, saying: “The most important thing in football is to have a balanced defense and to concede as few goals as possible. We saw in the friendly matches that the team conceded only one goal in four matches, which is a positive and reassuring thing for us. It is true that Al-Qadisiyah is a strong team, but we will not rush to attack excessively; there will be a balance between defense and attack, and the most important thing is confidence and competition, and the youth team has attacking strength.”

Regarding contracts, the youth coach clarified: “We are now in mid-August, and there is still time before the transfer window closes, and we do not know what will happen in the future.”

On the possibility of relying on Carlos Junior as a striker, he said: “Carlos Junior has played as a striker before, and while this is not his primary position, he has succeeded in it, and I trust him. We also have Saudi players in this position like Hamad Al-Khuraif and Hisham Al-Dubais, but from now until a week, we might have five strikers, and we do not know what will happen.”
