لقي أربعة عمال مصرعهم وأصيب آخر، إثر إعصار ضرب موقعًا للإنشاءات في محافظة أنطاليا جنوبي تركيا، ومزق حاويتين كان يقيم فيهما العمال، وسط أجواء ممطرة وتحذيرات جوية شهدتها المنطقة.
ووقع الحادث في حي «فوزي تشاكماك» بمنطقة كيبيز، إذ اجتاح الإعصار موقع البناء بقوة، ما أدى إلى تحطم الحاويتين وقذف خمسة عمال كانوا بداخلهما إلى مسافات بعيدة، فيما هرعت فرق الإسعاف والشرطة والإطفاء وإدارة الكوارث والطوارئ التركية إلى الموقع.
وأفادت السلطات بأن عاملين توفيا في موقع الحادث، بينما فارق عاملان آخران الحياة بعد نقلهما إلى المستشفى، فيما نجا العامل الخامس بإصابات طفيفة وحالته الصحية جيدة.
كما تسبب الإعصار في سقوط رافعة داخل موقع البناء وإلحاق أضرار بتسع مركبات، فيما تطايرت أجزاء من الحاويات والحطام لمسافات وصلت إلى مئات الأمتار، ووصل بعضها إلى سطح روضة أطفال قريبة.
وقال محافظ أنطاليا خلوصي شاهين إن الإعصار ظهر بصورة مفاجئة وتحرك لمسافة بضع مئات من الأمتار قبل أن يتلاشى، مشيرًا إلى أن الأضرار تركزت بصورة لافتة في موقع البناء دون تسجيل أضرار مماثلة في المناطق المحيطة.
وأوضح أن ثلاثة من المتوفين يحملون الجنسية السورية، فيما يحمل الرابع الجنسية التركية، مشيرًا إلى فتح تحقيق قضائي في الحادث واستجواب المسؤولين عن موقع الإنشاء ضمن التحقيقات الجارية.
وكانت هيئة الأرصاد الجوية التركية قد أصدرت تحذيرًا باللون الأصفر من أمطار غزيرة في أنطاليا، في وقت أكدت فيه السلطات استمرار مراقبة الأحوال الجوية واتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة تحسبًا لأي تطورات.
Four workers were killed and another was injured after a tornado struck a construction site in Antalya province, southern Turkey, tearing apart two containers where the workers were staying, amid rainy weather and weather warnings in the area.
The incident occurred in the “Fawzi Çakmak” neighborhood of the Kepez district, where the tornado hit the construction site with force, resulting in the destruction of the two containers and throwing five workers who were inside them to distant locations, while emergency, police, fire, and Turkish disaster and emergency management teams rushed to the site.
Authorities reported that two workers died at the scene, while two others passed away after being transported to the hospital, whereas the fifth worker survived with minor injuries and is in good health.
The tornado also caused a crane to fall within the construction site and inflicted damage on nine vehicles, while parts of the containers and debris were scattered over distances reaching hundreds of meters, with some landing on the roof of a nearby kindergarten.
Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin stated that the tornado appeared suddenly and moved a few hundred meters before dissipating, noting that the damage was notably concentrated at the construction site without similar damage reported in the surrounding areas.
He clarified that three of the deceased were Syrian nationals, while the fourth was Turkish, indicating that a judicial investigation into the incident has been opened and that those responsible for the construction site are being questioned as part of the ongoing investigations.
The Turkish Meteorological Authority had issued a yellow warning for heavy rain in Antalya, while authorities confirmed that they are continuing to monitor weather conditions and taking necessary measures in anticipation of any developments.
