قُتل خمسة أشخاص، فيما أُصيب شخص آخر بجروح حرجة، إثر حادثة إطلاق نار وقعت في منزلين بمنطقة غابات في ولاية ميشيغان الأمريكية أمس (الجمعة)، قبل أن تعثر الشرطة على المشتبه به متوفى قرب بحيرة ويتلوك.
وبحسب شرطة ولاية ميشيغان، استجاب عناصر الأمن، قبيل الظهر، لبلاغ عن إطلاق نار داخل منزل، حيث عثروا على ثلاثة أشخاص قتلى، وشخص رابع مصاب بجروح حرجة نُقل إلى المستشفى. وخلال عمليات البحث والتحقيق، عثرت الشرطة على جثة ضحية رابعة داخل منزل آخر.
وحددت الشرطة هوية المشتبه به بأنه تشاد هيكمان (39 عامًا)، موضحةً أنه غادر الموقع قبل وصول عناصر الأمن، ما دفع السلطات إلى إطلاق عملية بحث واسعة عنه.
وعثرت الشرطة لاحقًا على مركبته في منطقة حرجية قرب بحيرة ويتلوك، قبل أن تعثر على جثته إلى جانب جثة ضحية خامسة.
وأكدت الشرطة عدم وجود تهديد مستمر للسكان، فيما لا تزال التحقيقات جارية لكشف دوافع الحادثة وملابساتها. ولم تعلن السلطات حتى الآن هويات الضحايا أو طبيعة علاقتهم بالمشتبه به، كما لم تكشف رسميًا عن سبب وفاته.
Five people were killed, and another person was critically injured, following a series of shootings in Missaukee County, Michigan, USA yesterday (Friday), before police found the suspect deceased near Whitlock Lake.
According to the Michigan State Police, security personnel responded shortly before noon to a report of gunfire inside a home, where they found three people dead and a fourth person critically injured who was taken to the hospital. During the search and investigation, police discovered the body of a fourth victim inside another home.
The police identified the suspect as Chad Hickman (39 years old), stating that he left the scene before security personnel arrived, prompting authorities to launch a wide search for him.
Police later found his vehicle in a wooded area near Whitlock Lake, before discovering his body alongside that of a fifth victim.
The police confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the residents, while investigations are still underway to uncover the motives and circumstances of the incident. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims or the nature of their relationship with the suspect, nor have they officially disclosed the cause of his death.
