أعلنت وزارة الدفاع الروسية مقتل 6 من أفراد طاقم قاذفة إستراتيجية من طراز «تو-95»، إثر تحطمها خلال تنفيذ رحلة تدريبية في مقاطعة أمور بأقصى شرق روسيا، فيما نجا فرد سابع من الطاقم ونُقل إلى المستشفى لتلقي العلاج.
وقالت الوزارة إن الطائرة تحطمت في منطقة غير مأهولة بالسكان خلال رحلة تدريبية، مؤكدة أنها كانت تحلق دون أسلحة أو ذخيرة على متنها وقت وقوع الحادث.
وبحسب السلطات المحلية، وقع التحطم بالقرب من قرية كراسنوياروفو الواقعة على نهر زيا في مقاطعة أمور، القريبة من الحدود الروسية مع الصين، مشيرة إلى أن أفراد الطاقم بذلوا جهوداً لإبعاد الطائرة عن المناطق السكنية قبل سقوطها.
وأرسلت القوات الجوية الفضائية الروسية لجنة متخصصة إلى موقع الحادث للتحقيق في ملابساته وتحديد الأسباب التي أدت إلى تحطم الطائرة، فيما لم تعلن وزارة الدفاع حتى الآن سبباً رسمياً للحادث.
وتعد «تو-95» قاذفة إستراتيجية بعيدة المدى مزودة بأربعة محركات توربينية مروحية، ودخلت الخدمة خلال الحقبة السوفيتية، وهي قادرة على حمل أسلحة نووية وصواريخ كروز، ولا تزال ضمن أسطول الطيران الإستراتيجي الروسي.
وأكدت وزارة الدفاع أن الطائرة المنكوبة لم تكن تحمل أي أسلحة أثناء الرحلة التدريبية التي انتهت بتحطمها.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the death of 6 crew members of a Tu-95 strategic bomber, following its crash during a training flight in the Amur region of far eastern Russia, while a seventh crew member survived and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The ministry stated that the aircraft crashed in an unpopulated area during the training flight, confirming that it was flying without weapons or ammunition on board at the time of the incident.
According to local authorities, the crash occurred near the village of Krasnoyarovo located on the Zeya River in the Amur region, close to the Russian border with China, noting that the crew members made efforts to steer the aircraft away from residential areas before it fell.
The Russian Aerospace Forces sent a specialized committee to the crash site to investigate the circumstances and determine the causes that led to the aircraft’s crash, while the Ministry of Defense has not yet announced an official reason for the incident.
The Tu-95 is a long-range strategic bomber equipped with four turboprop engines, which entered service during the Soviet era. It is capable of carrying nuclear weapons and cruise missiles, and it remains part of the Russian strategic aviation fleet.
The Ministry of Defense confirmed that the ill-fated aircraft was not carrying any weapons during the training flight that ended in its crash.
