Manama: Bahrain’s Defence Force (BDF) said its air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed several Iranian aerial attacks on Sunday.
In a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force said the attacks involved missiles and drones and described them as part of a continued hostile campaign targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The BDF said Iran was continuing what it described as an unlawful approach through missile and drone attacks directed at civilians in the kingdom.
The statement added that the deliberate use of missiles and drones against civilians and private property constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
The Bahraini military said its air defence systems responded to the threats and successfully neutralised the incoming aerial attacks.
