Kuwait: Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced on Sunday that a power generation and water desalination plant was hit in an Iranian attack, the second such attack on the facility in two days, causing a fire in parts of the plant.

In a statement carried by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the ministry said the attack affected a number of power generation units, prompting the immediate activation of emergency plans and response measures aimed at maintaining the stability of the national electricity grid.

The ministry said the Kuwait Fire Force responded swiftly to contain the blaze, while technical and emergency teams, in coordination with the relevant security authorities, began implementing precautionary measures, assessing the damage and working to restore the affected units as quickly as possible.

It affirmed that its technical teams continue to operate around the clock to maintain the stability of the electricity network and ensure the continuity of services while closely monitoring the national grid.

The ministry added that it is coordinating with the relevant authorities and will continue to provide updates through its official communication channels.
