Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh Employees, Teachers, Workers and Pensioners Joint Action Committee (AP JAC) submitted a memorandum to health minister Satya Kumar Yadav during his visit to Paderu on Friday, highlighting long-pending demands related to Alluri Sitarama Raju district.
The delegation sought restoration of the Government Homoeopathy Hospital in Paderu, which earlier served tribal communities, employees, teachers and students before becoming defunct nearly 25 years ago. They said revival of the facility would improve healthcare access in the region.
AP JAC leaders also urged the government to retain vunder the erstwhile Zone-I administrative structure instead of the current Zone-II, citing governance and representation concerns.
Another demand included introduction of a legal framework similar to G.O. Ms No. 3 to protect employment opportunities for tribal youth in scheduled areas and safeguard indigenous rights.
The delegation further requested filling of 14 vacant MPHS (Female) posts in Primary Health Centres across the district through promotion of eligible MPHA (Female) staff, in line with G.O. No. 68 dated April 16, 1988.
Minister Satya Kumar Yadav reportedly responded positively and assured the delegation that their concerns would be forwarded to the Chief Minister for consideration.
The meeting was attended by AP JAC district chairman L.K. Ravindra Babu Patrudu, district co-chairman Kudumula Kantha Rao, organising secretary Gulleli Simhadri, vice-president Matam Suryanarayana and representatives of various employee unions.
