KURNOOL: Tension prevailed in Adoni town on Sunday after police prevented BJP MLA Dr Parthasarathi from proceeding to the YSRC Party office over the Mega DSC issue.

The MLA had announced that he would visit the YSRC office at SKD Colony to clarify doubts raised by party leaders. Police placed him under house arrest to prevent any untoward incident.

The MLA later broke through the house arrest and set out on foot towards the office. As BJP workers gathered in his support, police erected barricades on Arts College Road and stopped him.

Dr Parthasarathi staged a sit-in on the road, saying his intention was only to address and clear the concerns of YSRC leaders over the Mega DSC issue and not to create trouble.

Police subsequently persuaded him to return to his residence, bringing the situation under control.
