The weekly grievances redress meeting was held in Salem and Namakkal district collectorates after nearly two months, on Monday (May 11, 2026).

Following the election dates announced on March 15, the election Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into force immediately, across the State. Following this, the weekly grievance day held on Mondays was cancelled for the past two months. A box was kept at the Collectorates and people were asked to submit their grievance petitions in those boxes. As the election results were announced, the MCC was withdrawn last week.

Following this, on Monday, the weekly grievance day was held at the Salem Collectorate. District Collector A. Arun Thamburaj presided and received petitions from the public. The Collector received a total of 258 petitions, including for bank loans, education loans, drinking water facilities, and road and street light facilities. The Collector also received petitions from differently-abled persons.

He also distributed welfare assistance to the tune of ₹33.75 lakh to 29 differently-abled beneficiaries, including petrol scooters and battery-operated wheelchairs.

Likewise, at the Namakkal Collectorate, District Collector Durgamoorthi received a total of 238 petitions from the public.
