Mangaluru: Karkala MLA and BJP state general secretary V Sunil Kumar took a dig at Home Minister Priyank Kharge over his criticism of the RSS, pointing to a reply given by Kharge in the Legislative Council on incidents during RSS shakhas and path sanchalans.

In a social media post, Sunil Kumar said Kharge, who frequently criticises the RSS, had himself stated in the House that no untoward incidents had been reported during RSS shakhas and path sanchalans.

He also pointed out that Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara had given a similar reply during his tenure as Home Minister in 2025.

Sunil Kumar posted the message on Facebook with the headline, “Two Home Ministers, but the organisation is the same.” He also shared images of the two replies.

Parameshwara’s reply on December 9, 2025, was in response to a question raised by Sunil Kumar, while Kharge’s reply on August 20, 2026, was in response to a question raised by Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi T Narayanaswamy. The question sought information on the number of cases registered against the RSS, whether the organisation had been involved in any riot cases and whether any untoward incidents had occurred during RSS shakhas or marchpasts.

The reply stated: “No cases have been registered.”

“Goebbels Congress leaders may tell a hundred lies, but they cannot undermine the values and culture of the organisation,” Sunil Kumar said in his post.
