في تصعيد عسكري، أكدت مصادر عسكرية يمنية أن مليشيات الحوثي استهدفت ميناء المخا غرب البلاد، بصواريخ وطائرات مسيّرة.
وأفادت المصادر بأن أربعة انفجارات جديدة هزت مدينة المخا غربي اليمن، بالتزامن مع الهجوم الذي استهدف الميناء. ولم تتضح بعد طبيعة الأهداف التي طالتها الانفجارات الجديدة أو حجم الخسائر الناجمة عنها.
ويكتسب ميناء المخا أهمية إستراتيجية بسبب موقعه على الساحل الغربي لليمن وقربه من مضيق باب المندب، أحد أهم الممرات البحرية الدولية.
وسبق أن تعرض الميناء لهجمات حوثية، أبرزها هجوم في سبتمبر 2021 بصاروخ باليستي وخمس طائرات مسيّرة، وفق الحكومة اليمنية، ما ألحق أضراراً بمرافق تشغيلية ومخازن للمواد الغذائية.
وكان مدير ميناء المخا عبدالملك الشرعبي قال في فبراير الماضي: إن الخسائر التي تعرض لها الميناء بسبب الهجمات وتوقف التشغيل قُدرت بنحو 800 مليون دولار، مؤكداً حاجته إلى إعادة تأهيل بنيته التحتية.
بالتزامن، شهدت الجبهة الشمالية لمحافظة الضالع تصعيداً ميدانياً، بعدما شنت القوات الحكومية هجمات بالطائرات المسيّرة والقصف المدفعي على مواقع للحوثيين.
وذكرت مصادر عسكرية جنوبية أن الهجمات استهدفت مواقع وتحصينات للمليشيات في مناطق الفاخر وباب غلق ومريس، ضمن مناطق التماس شمال المحافظة.
وأفادت المصادر بأن القوات الحكومية استخدمت الطائرات المسيّرة الهجومية للمرة الأولى على هذه الجبهة إلى جانب المدفعية، فيما تحدث المركز الإعلامي للقوات الجنوبية عن استهداف أنفاق وتجمعات وآليات قتالية تابعة للحوثيين، وإلحاق خسائر بشرية ومادية بها.
ويجيء التصعيد الجديد بعد أسابيع شهد خلالها اليمن عودة ملحوظة للعمليات العسكرية، بالتزامن مع اتساع تداعيات التوتر الإقليمي.
In a military escalation, Yemeni military sources confirmed that Houthi militias targeted the Al-Mokha port in the west of the country with missiles and drones.
The sources reported that four new explosions shook the city of Al-Mokha in western Yemen, coinciding with the attack on the port. The nature of the targets affected by the new explosions and the extent of the resulting damages are still unclear.
The Al-Mokha port holds strategic importance due to its location on Yemen’s western coast and its proximity to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, one of the most important international maritime passages.
The port has previously been subjected to Houthi attacks, the most notable of which was an attack in September 2021 involving a ballistic missile and five drones, according to the Yemeni government, which caused damage to operational facilities and food storage.
Abdulmalik Al-Sharabi, the director of Al-Mokha port, stated last February that the losses incurred by the port due to the attacks and the halt in operations were estimated at around 800 million dollars, emphasizing the need for rehabilitation of its infrastructure.
Simultaneously, the northern front of Al-Dhale’ governorate witnessed a field escalation, as government forces launched drone attacks and artillery shelling on Houthi positions.
Southern military sources reported that the attacks targeted militia positions and fortifications in the areas of Al-Fakher, Bab Ghalq, and Murais, within the contact zones in the northern part of the governorate.
The sources indicated that government forces used attack drones for the first time on this front alongside artillery, while the media center of the southern forces reported targeting tunnels, gatherings, and combat vehicles belonging to the Houthis, inflicting human and material losses on them.
This new escalation comes after weeks in which Yemen witnessed a noticeable return of military operations, coinciding with the widening repercussions of regional tensions.
