American media revealed today (Wednesday) that planning for strikes on Iran’s underground nuclear facilities continues.
CNN reported, citing sources, that “U.S. efforts to develop plans for decisive strikes against Iran’s underground nuclear facilities are ongoing,” suggesting that this underground facility is designed as a safe haven for Iran’s nuclear program.
This comes at a time when a U.S.-European draft resolution confirmed that Iran continues to fail to comply with its obligations regarding its nuclear file, expressing deep concern over this issue.
The draft resolution emphasized that the lack of information regarding nuclear materials and the denial of access to Iranian facilities are matters that require urgent attention, reiterating the call for Tehran to promptly address its non-compliance with the safeguards agreement.
The draft urged Iran to engage seriously, without preconditions, in talks aimed at building international trust, affirming support for reaching a diplomatic solution to the challenges posed by its nuclear program.
In contrast, a member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ibrahim Rezai, stated that Iran’s membership in the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons has not brought any benefit to the country, but has only led to intelligence agencies obtaining information about sensitive centers and scientists. He noted that despite extensive inspections conducted on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the country has not been able to achieve peaceful nuclear technology.
He claimed that the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, is “a tool for the West and an executor of U.S. orders,” asserting that Iran will respond to any potential decision issued by the Agency’s Board of Governors.
