أعرب وفد المملكة العربية السعودية الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات الدولية في فيينا عن ترحيبه بما ورد في البيان المشترك الصادر عن وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين في الجمهورية العربية السورية الشقيقة والوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية بتاريخ 18 أغسطس 2026م، والتقدم الإيجابي في التعاون بينهما وبالخطوات التي اتخذتها الحكومة السورية لمعالجة مسائل الضمانات العالقة، وما تم الإعلان عنه خلال زيارة مدير عام الوكالة إلى الجمهورية العربية السورية.
وثمن وفد المملكة الدائم ما أبدته الجمهورية العربية السورية من تعاون وشفافية مع الوكالة، وتسهيل وصولها إلى المواقع المعنية وتمكينها من الاضطلاع بأنشطة التفتيش والتحقق وفق الخطوات المتفق عليها بين الجانبين، الأمر الذي يمثل تطورًا إيجابيًا ومهمًا نحو معالجة المسائل العالقة وتسويتها.
وأعرب الوفد عن تقديره للجهود التي تبذلها الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية، بقيادة مديرها العام السيد رافائيل غروسي، كما يؤكد الوفد أهمية الدور المحوري الذي تضطلع به الوكالة في دعم الدول الأعضاء ومساعدتها؛ بما يسهم في تعزيز الاستخدامات السلمية للطاقة النووية وتحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة.
ويتطلَع وفد المملكة الدائم إلى مواصلة العمل والتعاون مع الدول الأعضاء في الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية؛ لدعم الجهود الرامية إلى تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة.
The Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna expressed its welcome to the joint statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic and the International Atomic Energy Agency on August 18, 2026, and the positive progress in cooperation between them and the steps taken by the Syrian government to address the outstanding guarantee issues, as well as what was announced during the visit of the Director General of the Agency to the Syrian Arab Republic.
The Kingdom’s Permanent Mission appreciated the cooperation and transparency demonstrated by the Syrian Arab Republic with the Agency, facilitating its access to the relevant sites and enabling it to carry out inspection and verification activities in accordance with the steps agreed upon by both parties, which represents a positive and important development towards addressing and resolving the outstanding issues.
The Mission expressed its appreciation for the efforts made by the International Atomic Energy Agency, led by its Director General, Mr. Rafael Grossi, and emphasized the importance of the pivotal role played by the Agency in supporting member states and assisting them; contributing to the promotion of peaceful uses of nuclear energy and achieving sustainable development goals.
The Kingdom’s Permanent Mission looks forward to continuing work and cooperation with member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency to support efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region.
