The contract awarded by Ras Al-Khaimah Cement Company (RAKCC) in the UAE covers EPC of two cement silos and conveyors, each with a capacity of 1,500 tonnes a day
The UAE’s Ras Al-Khaimah Cement Company (RAKCC) has awarded Chinese industrial contractor Sinoma a contract to build two cement silos and conveyors, each with a capacity of 1,500 tonnes a day (t/d).
The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract was issued by RAKCC to Sinoma Energy Conservation International Investment Company on 1 September, the Chinese contractor said in a statement on its website, although it has yet to reveal the value of the contract.
RAKCC, established in 1995, offers products including Portland cement, sulphate-resistant cement and oil well cement.
In its statement, Sinoma said it had built a waste heat power plant to support RAKCC’s cement production line, with the unit operating “stably and reliably” since its commissioning in 2016.
“Over the following years, the company has continuously provided the owner [RAKCC] with full-cycle operation and maintenance services, including inspection, maintenance and spare parts, earning the owner’s full recognition and high praise for its strong technical capabilities and high-quality service,” Sinoma said.
Sinoma has established a strong presence in the cement industry in the Middle East in recent years, securing EPC contracts for several projects in the region.
In the first quarter of this year, Sinoma won contracts in Iraq and Saudi Arabia for the construction of cement and brick production facilities.

Beijing-based Sinoma won a contract from Iraq’s Nargis Group for EPC work on a 6,000 t/d cement production line in Basra.
Sinoma’s scope of work on the contract covers EPC of the complete production system, from raw materials handling and clinker preparation to cement grinding, storage and shipping.
Also in Iraq, Sinoma won a contract from Najmadin Group to provide EPC plus operations and maintenance (O&M) services for a production line at its brick factory in Sulaymaniyah, in the Kurdistan Region.
As part of its contract, Sinoma will execute EPC works on the production line, which will be the second at the brick factory and will have a capacity of 750 t/d. The company will also provide O&M services for both the first and second lines.
Sinoma previously performed EPC works on the first production line at the Sulaymaniyah brick factory, having won that contract from Najmadin Group in 2022.
In January, Saudi Arabia’s Yamama Cement Company awarded Sinoma a general EPC contract covering the integration of engineering design, equipment and materials supply, civil construction, electromechanical equipment installation, commissioning and technical services.
The scope of work on Sinoma’s contract covers the expansion of the batching system for the current three production lines and six cement mills at Yamama’s cement plant in Riyadh, as well as materials conveying connections, the addition of 12 cement and materials storage facilities and unloading systems, and a fully automated shipping system.
Prior to this contract, Yamama awarded Sinoma a contract to build a 10,000 t/d clinker line in 2022, eventually awarding the Chinese firm another contract to increase its output capacity to 12,500 t/d. Sinoma finished work on the second contract in November last year.
In addition, in November 2025, Sinoma Overseas signed an agreement with Syria’s Al-Marsoumi Group to develop a cement factory in the Abu Shamat area of Damascus.
According to the memorandum of understanding signed by the two parties, the proposed facility will have a capacity of 1.17 million tonnes a year.
