Mumbai: Actor Sobhita Dhulipala, brand ambassador for Aadyam Handwoven, made an appearance at the label’s Autumn/Winter 2026 preview in Mumbai, choosing a look that reflected the brand’s ongoing effort to reinterpret traditional Indian handloom for a contemporary audience.

For the occasion, Dhulipala wore a Banarasi silk co-ord set styled with a Kadwa dupatta, also in Banarasi silk. The dupatta stood out for its modern graphic pattern interspersed with floral booties, a pairing of geometry and traditional motif that captured the collection’s central idea of old craft meeting new design language.

The ensemble is part of Aadyam Handwoven’s Damyanti collection, which draws its inspiration from the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma. The collection translates the artist’s classical visual sensibility, known for its rich color work and romantic figuration, into woven textile form, bridging fine art references with the technical vocabulary of the handloom.

By presenting the look on Dhulipala, Aadyam Handwoven continued to lean into its positioning as a bridge between heritage weaving traditions and a younger, style-conscious consumer base. The brand, a corporate social enterprise under the Aditya Birla Group, works with weaver clusters across regions including Banaras, Bhuj, Bhadohi, Gadwal, Kashmir, and Pochampally, and has framed its partnership with Dhulipala around themes of authenticity, craftsmanship, and the stories embedded in handwoven textiles.
